As Vice President of the Redwood Coast Energy Authority’s Board of Directors, Sheri Woo is working to increase public engagement as Humboldt County moves toward establishing a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program.  A CCA is a program that allows residents to choose the source of their electricity, either from the publicly owned utility or the CCA. 

The advantages of the CCA include a greater portion of electricity from renewable sources such as wind, solar, and biomass, and potentially lower electrical rates than the publicly owned utility.  Sheri is a former environmental engineer who is now SHN’s marketing coordinator, and is experienced in public engagement processes, which require numerous meetings and documentation and a sincere desire to listen to the public and incorporate their feedback.  Although some of our positions require an in-office presence during standard business hours, SHN’s flex-time policies allow Sheri time to serve our community.
