Environmental Geologist

SHN is seeking an Environmental Geologist for our Eureka, CA region with emphasis
on investigation and remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon and chlorinated solvent
contamination in various media. The successful candidate will perform site investigation
and data evaluation activities, oversee field efforts for site investigations, develop/implement
remedial feasibility testing work scopes, prepare geologic cross sections, and develop site
conceptual models.
Environmental Geologists at SHN develop both Phase I and Phase II site assessments,
perform site investigations, groundwater modeling, develop site conceptual models and
work plans for site investigations. The position is also responsible for project quality
assurance, budget control, scheduling, deliverables, cost estimating, statistical and
financial analysis, budgeting, and client interaction. Field work includes collecting soil
and groundwater samples, drilling activities, groundwater modeling, geospatial analysis,
classifying environmental drilling, conducting feasibility studies, investigations and
remediation of contaminated soil and water and pilot testing.

Qualifications:
- Technical skills are critical for us, however, the most successful working

- Ability to successfully market technical and professional services.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Organizational and leadership abilities.
Education/Registrations/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology from an accredited university or
college.
- California Professional Geologist License (P.G.); is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in environmental geology field.
- 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER Certification.
- A working knowledge of the conditions and geologic requirements in the geographic
area.
- Previous full-cycle remediation experience.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of normal work hours.
Salary: This position is salaried, commensurate with experience.
